What To Do Before Using Sam-E

Before using any medicine, you must bear in mind that it is not a food. You must have knowledge about the precautions to be taken before using it. Same is the case with the use of Sam-E. Sam-E is a good natural antidepressant and difference between a panic attack and an anxiety attack, but it may have some potential risk. Sam-E is non toxic and safe.

Sam-E Side Effects

Sam-E side effects seasonal affective disorder are less than any other drug and placebo. Many antidepressants are liver damaging but Sam-E information shows that it is liver protective. Some researchers also say that it protects liver from drug induced damages. It protects from the damaging effects of paracetamol, estrogen, steroids, alcohol and many other drugs.

Withdrawal reaction is usually found in antidepressants but not in Sam-E. Supplements should be taken as per the advice of your doctor. Sam-E has not been fully assessed for it being safe or unsafe for women and children. That is why it is avoided to be recommended for children and women. Some Sam-E side effects are reported like nausea, diarrhea, headache, anxiety, flatulence, restlessness and insomnia. To avoid Sam-E side effects, it should not be taken before going to bed.

There are some psychological diseases that worsen with the use of Sam-E such as bipolar disorders. In persons with bipolar depression Sam-E (a natural antidepressant) may lead to manic phase. Sam-E information also reveals that higher doses of Sam-E may cause anxiety in the patients of depression. Mania is also reported in non-bipolar individuals. If anxiety remains with even low doses, you should discontinue Sam-E.

Always consult your doctor before using the combination of Sam-E and any other antidepressant. Sam-E MDMA combination gives no results. Sam-E information reveals that combination of Sam-E MDMA antagonizes the affects of each other. However, Sam-E MDMA combination affects have not yet been proved.  All antidepressants should be avoided to be used in combination with Sam-E.  Sam-E should be used in combination with multivitamin like folic acid, vitamins B6 and B12.

Sam-E For  Depression

Potential Sam-E side effects are headache, irregularity in heart rate and restlessness. Some sensitive people have complaints about stomach irritation. It is due to empty stomach. Sam-E should be taken before meal. If it is not possible then you can take it with the meal. Sam-E may also contribute to serotonin syndrome when used in combination with natural antidepressants, synthetic antidepressants and serotonin boosting supplements.

Sam-E also interacts with other drugs and supplements to raise serotonin level. In combination with other drugs, Sam-E may produce life threatening conditions such as tremors, anxiety, agitation, tachycardia, difficulty in breathing and profuse sweating. Sam-E and antidepressant combination may also cause insomnia. Always consult a pharmacist before using any supplement or drug in combination with Sam-E.

During lots of metabolic reactions, Sam-E is converted to homocysteine. Homocysteine may increase to fatal levels. To avoid this condition, you should use cofactors (Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12 and folic acid) in order to enhance the production of methionine (Sam-E precursor). Methionine produces Sam-E with the help of vitamins and ATP, which is a major source of energy in the body.
