Sadness Effects on Your Body

Sadness is part of our day to day lives. At least everyone has ever felt sad at a certain point life. As many people would say, sadness is always associated with change of body mood and feeling unhappy. Sadness affects the way the body works and the GIT is one of the worst hit. When one is experiencing sad feelings, digestive juice secretion and peristalsis is impaired, which makes constipation a common phenomenon among people experiencing sad feelings over a period of time.

Increased Blood Pressure and Heart Rate

When one is experiencing sad feelings, the brain is always overly active, a situation that eventually leads to an increased heart rate and blood pressure. This increase may also be facilitated by either failure of inhibition or overstimulation of some nerves which release biochemical agents that elicit feelings of sadness. At times, one may also experience heart palpitations.

Headache

Some situations that elicit sad feelings may also lead to persistent headache especially when the situation involves physical loss of property. This is particularly common when sadness is brought about by financial losses or job related stress.
